Saturday 20th March 1982: Kalopani to Ghasa (6 miles)
We left Kalopani at 09:00, it having taken a long time to sort out our bill. An excellent clear day and pleasant walking with Fire-capped Tit an unexpected bonus (and my first new bird for a week). We returned to the Mustang Lodge in Ghasa (6600 ft) and after lunch, at 14:00, I climbed a short way up the hill opposite seeing quite a few birds. Returned to the lodge at 17:30 for daal bhat, not spicy but vegetables 90% cabbage, although that didn’t stop me having two plates full. A hot sweaty night despite still being at over 6000 ft.
